Privacy Policy

• You do not need an account to play, and we do not ask you for your name or email to play.
• Your scores and settings are saved on your own device, inside your browser. We do not receive them.
• This website shows ads provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads (see section 5 and our Cookie Policy).
• We use Google Analytics and our hosting provider’s visitor statistics to see how the site is used (see sections 3 and 6).
• The game loads a font from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google (see section 7).

To remember your scores, the game saves a small amount of information on your own device. It contains:

• your settings: difficulty and whether the sound is on or off,
• your total score, and for each layout your wins, best score and best time,
• a history of your last 200 games (layout, difficulty, time, score, win or loss, and the date).

A game in progress is not saved: each visit starts with a fresh board.

This information stays on your device. The game does not send it to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. It is used only to give you the saving feature. It is not used for advertising or tracking.

Because it lives in your browser, it is not shared between devices. You can delete it at any time by clearing the site data for mahjongarc.com in your browser settings. Doing so resets your scores and checkmarks.

This website is run on the servers of a web hosting provider. Like almost every web server, the server automatically records technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and your browser type. This is needed to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix errors. We do not use these logs to identify you or to build profiles. How long the hosting provider keeps them is governed by the provider’s own policy. We also look at basic visitor statistics from the hosting provider, which are based on these records and do not use cookies.

Ordinary visitors receive cookies only through the advertising and statistics services described in sections 5 and 6. The site itself sets technical cookies only when someone logs in to its administration area. For a full explanation, including how to control cookies, read our Cookie Policy.

We use Google AdSense to display ads beside the game on the home page. Google, as a third-party vendor, and its advertising partners use cookies, device identifiers and similar technologies to serve ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ad performance and to prevent fraud. Depending on your choices and your location, these ads may be personalised based on your visits to this and other websites.

When Google collects this data, it receives information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and the pages where ads were shown. Google acts as an independent controller for this use. Your choices

• If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent to personalised ads through a consent message. You can change your decision at any time from the privacy settings link shown on the site, where available.
• You can turn off personalised advertising in your Google account at myadcenter.google.com.
• You can opt out of personalised ads from many other providers at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.
• You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (see the Cookie Policy). You will still see ads, but they will not be personalised.

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they use. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device (typically named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to tell visits apart, and it receives information such as your approximate location, device and browser details, and the pages you view. We use this information only in summary form, to improve the site. Where the law requires it, these cookies are set only after you agree.

Your choices

• Refuse or withdraw your consent in the consent message, where it is shown.
• Install Google’s opt-out add-on for your browser at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
• Block or delete cookies in your browser settings (see the Cookie Policy).

The game uses the typeface Oswald, which it loads from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). When the game loads, your browser therefore connects to Google’s servers, and Google receives technical information such as your IP address and browser details. We have no control over what Google does with this data. If the font cannot be loaded, the game still works and uses a similar font installed on your device.

If you send us an email, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use them only to reply to you and to deal with your question, and we keep them only as long as needed for that purpose.

Depending on where you live (for example in the European Union, the EEA or the United Kingdom), you may have the right to:

• ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy,
• have wrong data corrected, or your data deleted,
• restrict how your data is used, or object to its use,
• receive your data in a portable format,
• withdraw any consent you have given, at any time,
• complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Since the game’s own data stays on your device, you can already see and delete it yourself (see section 2). For anything else, email contact@mahjongarc.com. For data that Google collects through advertising, you can also use the controls described in section 5.

This website is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The game itself does not ask for any personal information.

If we change how the website or the game handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
